"Lil' Rhody Anchors

“Mentoring Today's Children to Become Leaders of Tomorrow”

 

The Lil' Rhody Anchors Program is designed to introduce children, ages 3 through 12 years of age, to the Miss Rhode Island and Miss Rhode Island's Teen Programs.   It allows them to work closely with the Rhode Island delegates who, through their many community service opportunities throughout the year. Our program encourages the participating children to be the best person they can be, have fun, pursue their dreams, and provides them a positive introduction to the amazing and talented Miss Rhode Island and Miss Rhode Island’s Teen delegates. Ultimately, the Lil’ Rhody Anchors is a fundraising endeavor to increase scholarship awards for our delegates who are striving to reach their educational goals.

How to Become a Lil’ Rhody Anchor

 

1) Our delegates can select the young ladies that they wish to have as their Lil’ Rhody Anchor. Each delegate will be required to have at least one Lil’ Rhody Anchor. Girls should be selected immediately so that the delegate can begin mentoring them well before this year’s competitions.

2) We will also accept applications At-Large, and match Lil’ Rhody Anchors with delegates. This allows families to register a child without being asked by a delegate.

***The deadline for applications for any Lil’ Rhody Anchor is March 9, 2024, if they wish to participate in the coronation ceremony on April 7, 2024. Further applications will be accepted until March 31, 2024.

 

 

Commitment to be a Lil’ Rhody Anchor

​

  • Coronation Ceremony: April 7, 2024 at 3:00pm (The Event Factory) at The Miss RI Scholarship Organization Cabaret: Anchors will receive their sashes and tiaras/crowns from their delegates on stage.

  • Optional: Participation in the Miss RI Scholarship Organization Cabaret on April 7th at The Event Factory. Children may perform an act of their choice.

  • Participate in the Miss RI & Miss Rhode Island’s Teen competition (May 12, 2024, with a dress rehearsal on May 9th at McVinney Auditorium)

  • Optional: Participation in the opening number for the competition. There will be 2 rehearsals for this in the spring. They are usually on Sunday afternoons for 1 -1 ½ hours). Dates TBA. This is optional and children must be present at both rehearsals to be in this number. Children will be split up into Minis (ages 3-8) and Juniors (ages 9-12)

*New Children-$275 registration fee -this will include a sash/crown

*Returning Children -$200 registration fee

If returning children would like a new crown, please add $45 to your payment.

  

 Registration Fee Includes

• Official Lil Rhody Anchor Crown (for new participants & Sash (for all participants)

• T-shirt for the opening number

• Appearance on stage at the competition in production numbers. Children must be present for rehearsals. Dates: Miss RI & Teen competition: May 12, 2024

• Children are invited to all events throughout the year.

• Recognition in the Commemorative Miss Rhode Island Program Book
